STOLEN LIVES PICNIC - 2026

Honoring Lives Lost. Supporting Survivors. Protecting Future Generations

Stolen Lives Picnic – Prescribed Harm Awareness Day

The Stolen Lives Picnic is a day of remembrance, awareness, and connection for families whose lives have been forever changed by adverse reactions to prescribed psychiatric medications, mental health system failures, and the loss of loved ones.

Held annually on July 29, International Prescribed Harm Awareness Day, the Stolen Lives Picnic brings together survivors, grieving families, advocates, healthcare professionals, lawmakers, and community members to honor those whose stories deserve to be remembered and whose voices deserve to be heard.

Founded by the UK-based organization Antidepressant Risks, Stolen Lives Picnics have been held in London for several years. This year marks a historic milestone as Michigan hosts the first Stolen Lives Picnic ever held outside of the United Kingdom.

This gathering is not a protest. It is a place for compassion, education, healing, remembrance, and hope.

Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket, lawn chairs, and their own picnic lunch or snacks to enjoy while spending time with family, friends, and others who understand the journey of loss, survival, and advocacy. Families are also encouraged to bring a framed photo of a loved one they wish to honor and remember during the event.

Throughout the day, attendees will have opportunities to share stories, connect with others who understand their experiences, hear from speakers, visit educational displays, and participate in conversations about informed consent, medication safety, mental health reform, social media harms, and the importance of investigating root causes of emotional and behavioral symptoms.

The Stolen Lives Picnic exists because every life matters. Every story matters. Every family deserves to be heard.

Together we remember those we have lost, support those still struggling, and work toward a future where children and families are given the information, transparency, and protections they deserve.

Join us as we honor lives, raise awareness, build community, and ensure that those affected are never forgotten.

Because every life has value. Every story deserves to be told. And every family deserves answers.
